Liz joined the Valuation Office as a cadet valuer in 1985. Liz became a fully qualified member of the RICS in 1989 working in various Yorkshire offices as a ‘patch valuer’ before specialising in local taxation. In 2007 Liz moved to Derby VO as Office Head and Team Leader for the Council Tax and NDR teams. In 2008 Liz joined the Litigation and Technical Policy Team as an assistant to the team head and took over management of the legal budget. Liz has a particular interest in transitional relief and since joining the team has developed tools and training material to assist staff in better decision making at each revaluation. In 2012 Liz began her current role as a Technical Adviser and is responsible for giving advice to caseworkers on all aspects of local taxation. Liz is also responsible for case management of complex NDR and CT litigation cases before the VTE, High Court and Upper Tribunal.
